Equine Mentors In Training (EMIT)

Berkshire HorseWorks recently Equine Mentors in Training (EMIT), which allows returning RanchLife 101 attendees in the 12–15 age range to attain a certificate of achievement in the mentorship of younger equine enthusiasts. 

The program is designed to enhance the skill development of returning RanchLifers, allowing them to showcase their prior knowledge and grow new skills in leadership. The program focuses on 4 key elements of youth leadership and allows an intimate group of mentors to build these skills with the BHW professional staff and the amazing herd they already know to exercise those elements as they work with assigned mentees during the session. 

Successful candidates will earn an EMIT leadership certificate that will serve as a valuable addition to their applications to first jobs, High School and college programs, and of course, future BHW programs and events.
